Examination before hanging is the hanger’s responsibility. No claim can be accepted for hanging incorrect wallcoverings. After hanging 2 or 3 lengths, inspect the result to ensure that no shading or other faults are present. No claim for hanging costs can be accepted once more than one roll has been hung.
All returns are at your cost and need to be done within 28 days. Unwanted products must be returned in the original packaging, unopened, undamaged and in a saleable condition. Once the product has been received back to 1838 Wallcoverings we will contact you to arrange a refund.
A non woven tends to have a more luxury, almost fabric-like feel. Non woven wallcoverings are suitable for ‘paste the wall’ application, making them quicker and easier to hang than standard wallpapers. They are also easily strippable when you want to change your decor.
It simply means that you should apply paste to the wall and not the back of the wallcovering. Using ‘paste the wall’ wallcoverings reduces the hanging time required. There is no need to soak the wallcovering prior to hanging, or to set up a pasting table and there will certainly be less mess and clean up required.

Our own 1838 paste is ideal for all our wallcoverings and available in 2.5kg or 5kg tubs on the website. Paste will be suggested when you are checking out an order, or just type “paste” into the search box at the top of the page. Alternatively, please use an equivalent good quality, PH neutral, solvent-free, fungicide protected, light grade adhesive. Do not use self-mix adhesives. All purpose and heavy-duty pastes are not suitable.
