Description
This pretty textured wallpaper features graceful peonies in full bloom, buds and leaves. Traditionally screen printed for a delicately textured effect to add a new dimension and enhance the shapes of nature that make up the pattern. Reimagined from a small swatch of a unique furnishing fabric, this wallpaper showcases the expertise involved in transforming original elements from the V&A archive.
The Natural background colour beautifully enhances the raised effect of these delicate shapes.

Adapted from a printed fabric by Tootal, Broadhurst, Lee & Co to capture the lively, playful essence of the fabric. The firm was a leading producer of fine cotton textiles, and its light-hearted and whimsical designs were frequently incorporated into apparel and home décor. The pattern echoes the enduring ‘country house’ aesthetic, characterised by florals and pastoral scenes, which remained popular in the 1920s and 30s.
